In a Nutshell
Literary. A writer and poet, both in English and Tagalog, with a few print and online publications and absolutely no contest awards.
Work. A website manager, editor, professional blogger, freelance writer, and webmaster.
Personal
The online persona known as “the Corsarius” was born Phillip Yerro Kimpo Jr on May 10, 1985 in this little corner of Quezon City, the Philippines. My main interests are literature, history, information technology, science, blogging, ekistics (urban planning), vexillology (flag making), cartography, and basketball.
Right now, my days are dominated by two passions: one for Web- and IT-related stuff, and the other for creative writing. Though I’d prefer to spend more hours on the latter than on the former, computers are an inescapable aspect of my life, due to my college education and present occupation.
When I write prose, it’s almost certain to be in English; when I write poetry, it’s almost certain to be in Tagalog/Filipino, my native tongue. And though I’ve had doubts on my writing skills, I’m adamant on calling myself a writer. A far-fetched analogy — a person who plays basketball is called a basketball player. He may be a professional basketball player, an amateur basketball player, a Jordan-esque basketball player, or a downright horrible basketball player, but in the end, he’s still a basketball player. Just that.
And that’s who I am. A writer. No adjectives. No exaggerations. No understatements. Simply, a writer.
Maybe you can judge for yourself by paying a visit to my lit blog. My other blogs can be found in Corsarify.

Professional
Currently, I’m an “independent professional”, a term mentioned by my best friend, Ia. The term best describes our pseudo-freelancing occupations. My working hours are split into two jobs, and both rely heavily on my computer, the Internet, and excellent written English — quite a blessing, since I’m able to fuse my degree in Computer Science and passion for writing.
Chief of my current occupations is being the Website Manager for Skryer.com, under Enthropia Inc. (The other manager is Ia.) Supporting that is my freelance writing, mostly through professional blogging. I’m more of a creative writer, though I can say that I’m more than able to write serious (or not so serious?) stuff, as well. On the Corsarify page you can find the links to the advertisement-supported blogs where I write, from group blogs to my own sites.
For almost a year, I was one of the two Web Project Managers for LoadedWeb, also under Enthropia Inc. (The other manager was Ia.) Basically, we developed websites, deployed them, maintained them, and did some marketing. Development entailed heavy research and writing of content, while marketing covered communicating with fellow webmasters/bloggers, submitting to online directories, and search engine optimization.
Also, my ACM virtual business card can be found here.
