Editorials

These were the editorials I wrote for The UP Parser (see Campus Journ). During my tenure, we released 7 issues, though the last one didn’t feature an editorial. The editorial cartoons were drawn by our uber-talented artist, Mai Sibayan.

If you’re looking for articles infused with political awareness and nationalistic fervor, I’m sorry to inform you that you won’t find them here. I chose to focus on Department-related issues, as there was no avenue to tackle them save for our student publication.

The CS Network — a groundbreaking alliance of eight CS-related organizations — has been formed, and The UP Parser is one of its proud constituents.

While apathy is rampant in the nation, apathy in smaller communities such as the Department is also a major cause for concern.

Coming of Age

Coming of Age (February 2006)

The Department sets out towards a bold, new future as it moves into its new building, nicknamed “Mount Olympus” and “Helm’s Deep“.
